When to choose it

The 1014 makes a nominal quarter-inch groove with a quarter-inch collet. Its one-inch flute section offers more cutting length than the 1058 while fitting a smaller collet.

Choose it by width and tooling fit before comparing length. A full flute-length plunge is a separate setup question governed by the cutter and router instructions.
